Earth can be mined in many places, and if it is only dried and solidified, it can be recycled by soaking in water to return to the original earth. As an attempt to expand the use of earth in modern architecture, this project challenged the use of earth in several ways in addition to plastered walls.

The first is an interior finish using unfired bricks called "Green Brick," which can be produced in a factory and installed dry on site, and has resource recycling and humidity control properties, as well as the distortion and graininess of earth. Second, by reinforcing it with naturally occurring linseed oil, we attempted to use earth as the interior of the floor, which is the only part of the building that comes in contact with human skin on a daily basis. The third was the use of washi paper dyed with earth from the construction site as shoji windows.
